During last year’s LWVSHR Annual Meeting, the Program Committee was tasked with studying local elections in Hampton Roads. At several May meetings, we will be discussing their report. Participate in one of them to have a voice in our new position.
The committee decided to look at the differences between at-large and district voting in all of our jurisdictions.
We raise the question:
Should local governments use a voting system that results in minority representation that is proportional to the locality’s population?
