Disability Voting Rights Week Is Sept. 14-18 in 2026.
People with disabilities used to encounter insurmountable barriers to participation in elections. The ADA and subsequent voting laws began to require accommodations so that people with disabilities could vote, but ensuring accessibility requires ongoing effort. Voting power is especially critical for members of the disability community because they are uniquely impacted by legislation that addresses much of their daily lives. Carolyn Caywood from LWVSHR will share information to empower voters with disabilities.
