Because June encompasses both Pride and Juneteenth, our June theme explores this quotation from Barack Obama, “We, the people, declare today that the most evident of truths – that all of us are created equal – is the star that guides us still; just as it guided our forebears through Seneca Falls, and Selma, and Stonewall.”
Rev. Mark R. Byrd, Senior Pastor of New Life Metropolitan Community Church of Hampton Roads, who was barred from performing marriages for same-sex couples before the 4th circuit court ruled the ban unconstitutional, will be joining us for a discussion of the Virginia Marriage Equality Amendment that will be on the ballot in November.
