Getting to Know You – Movie & Lunch!

Join us for this FUN event!  It’s all separate checks, hanging out and getting to know each other.

This event is organized by the League of Women Voters South Hampton Roads (LWVSHR) and the Virginia Beach chapter of the American Association of University Women (AAUW.) If you are a member of an allied group, please join us! (You can do either the movie or lunch or both!)

• Our plan is to watch a feel-good movie about young Girl Scouts, and then meet for lunch with our friends from allied groups.
• Our goal is to get to know each other so we can prepare to defend Voter Rights in the weeks ahead.

About the Movie 

• Many of our members are former Girl Scouts and/or Girl Scout leaders, so we picked the documentary, Cookie Queens, a story of sisterhood and ambition. Cookie Queens (Rated G, length 1:31) (See the trailer here.)

About Lunch

• After the movie we will walk from the AMC theater to Las Palmas Mexican Restaurant for lunch.
• Las Palmas Mexican Restaurant is directly across the plaza from the AMC theater, at 1009 Lynnhaven Mall Loop, Virginia Beach 23452.
• We have an area reserved so just tell the hostess you are there for the LWV/AAUW event, and she will direct you.
