| The Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is in the process of updating its Environmental Justice in the Permitting Process Guidance Memo. Updating this memo is a step in the right direction in preventing new sources of pollution from being built in fenceline, environmental justice communities that are already bearing a disproportionate pollution burden.
DEQ is hosting two town halls to receive public comment and we need faithful advocates like you to show up! The purpose of the town hall is to hear from members of the public about how DEQ can assess the cumulative impacts of pollution for DEQ issued permits and how they can best engage the communities harmed by polluting industries.
The first town hall will be on Wednesday, July 22nd in Richmond from 6-9 pm. The second town hall will take place on Wednesday, July 29th in Hampton Roads from 6-9 pm. Click the links below for more information and to RSVP!
