What does Environmental Justice mean for South Hampton Roads? How can we as a local League take action to make our corner of Virginia a safer and healthier environment for everyone who lives here?
Our state position is “Support for environmental justice as a guiding principle for all branches of state government. Support for an expansive view of environmental factors that impact quality of life now and in the future, for meaningful community engagement from the beginning and throughout environmental decision-making, and for use of modern tools and changed practices to ensure that past environmental injustices are not repeated but are mitigated.”
