Advocate on the issues we have taken a position on:

  • Write your local or state representatives
    • As an Individual
    • As a Local League  (draft a letter for a co-president; submit it to co-presidents for approval and LWVSHR submission)
  • Write your federal Representatives- As an Individual
  • Ask LWVSHR president to write federal Representatives
  • Help Organize a Candidate Debate
  • Respond to Action Alerts
  • Join the Observer Corps
  • Write Letters to the Editor or Public Service Announcements
  • Post on Social Media
  • Attend events and pass out information on the LWVSHR
  • Comment on State or Local Action as a Local League

In addition, each year LWV members are invited to attend Social Justice University. We learn more about pressing issues, and begin to organize for effect advocacy at the state level in Richmond during the General Assembly.

We also want to improve the speed and impact of our advocacy efforts. Do you have ideas? We’d love to hear them!
