Tuesday, August 4, 2026 Primary Election
- Election Day is Tuesday, August 4th, 2026, with voting that day at your assigned polling place from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
- A drop box is located inside the Norfolk Office of Elections, 810 Union Street, Suite 100, Norfolk VA 23510,
- There will be drop boxes inside each polling place on Primary Election Day, Tuesday, August 4th, 2026 during voting hours.
Early Voting for the Primary
- Early and absentee voting for the August 4, 2026 Republican Party Primary Election for U.S. Senate will begin on Thursday, June 18th at 9:00 a.m. in the Norfolk Office of Elections
- There is No Democratic Party Primary Election in Norfolk.
- The Norfolk Office of Elections will be closed on Friday, July 3rd, 2026, and there will be no early voting on that date.

- There is a Republican primary only in Portsmouth on Tuesday, August 4th, 2026. There is no Democratic primary.
- Portsmouth has early voting at the Registrar’s office, City Hall Building, 801 Crawford Street (see days and hours below).
- Portsmouth has two drop boxes,
- one inside City Hall building, 801 Crawford Street, and
- another on Columbia Street next to the Treasurer’s drop box (outside City Hall building)
In-Person Early Voting

- SUFFOLK BOROUGH: NEW FOR AUGUST 4TH PRIMARY – Lakeside (0601)precinct will move from Morgan Memorial Library to the new Downtown Suffolk Library, 309 W. Washington Street, Suffolk, 23434. This change is effective with the August 4, 2026 Dual Party Primary Election.
Virginia Beach
There is a Republican primary for U.S. Senate, and a Democratic primary for the U.S. House of Representatives, Second Congressional District.

- There are no satellite early voting sites for this primary election.
- Weekday voting extends from Thursday, June 18th to Friday, July 31st from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Saturday voting will occur on July 25th and August 1st from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Sunday voting will occur on July 19th and July 26th from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- All City offices will be closed on Friday, July 3, in observance of the Independence Day holiday, and no early voting will take place.
On Primary Election Day, August 4
- Election Day, Tuesday, August 4th, voting will be ONLY at each voter’s assigned normal polling location.
- Hours are 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
- No voting will occur at the Voter Registration and Elections office on that date.
